Whether you have been playing an instrument for a few years, or thinking about starting, you can succeed in this class. Besides learning how to play an instrument, you can find an extended family here in music, and a place to belong.
Music can help with excelling in reading, math, writing, building confidence, managing anxiety, and it can be an avenue for building a road to college with scholarships. Participation at Performances and Festivals is required as a part of the class description."
CHOIR
We do choir and show choir here at Calavera Hills Middle School. We learn simple music theory and how to read the music that we sing as well as practicing practical musicianship by practicing intervals. As a show choir we compete in two local competitions every year as well as perform in our own Winter and Spring Concerts. Participation at Performances and Competitions is required as a part of the class description. For our competitions and concerts we learn a show choir set that includes singing and dancing. The choreography is taught by a local professional choreographer.
