As a pre-med graduate of Chapman University, I found my love of S.T.E.M with a Bachelor of Science, emphasis is Microbiology. However, my heart was with teaching, and I followed that love back to Cal State University of San Marcos to receive an additional credential in Education. I have never regretted my decision! 

I have been teaching in the Carlsbad Unified School District since 2008, and middle schoolers are "my people!" It brings me great joy to help educate the future of tomorrow, and show them that FUN can be found in the classroom, among academic rigor. 

The reason I teach is because I believe in students - all students - no matter where they begin. All students have a clean slate when they enter the #CandyKaneFamily,  and I believe my greatest purpose in life is to help them realize their potential and be the best versions of themselves. Kindness really does matter, and my goal is to lead by example, and make the next generation a better place.
