Quote of the Week

“Don’t stress. Do your best and rock the test! ”  — Ms. Stapleton

As testing week begins, remember that your effort matters more than perfection. Tests are just one way to show what you’ve learned, and they don’t define who you are. What’s most important is showing up with a positive attitude, staying focused, and giving it your best shot. You’ve worked hard all year—trust yourself, breathe deep, and keep going. You've got this!

SBAC Testing

This week, May 5-9 , Calavera Hills Middle School will give the State SBAC in our math classes.  We will be on a special bell schedule for the next two weeks: SBAC TESTING BELL SCHEDULE

Students should be test ready on Monday!

  1. Be prepared. Bring your chromebook charged and ready to use. Bring something you can do after the test that doesn’t involve the computer.

  2. Get a good night’s sleep.  A rested brain works better!

  3. Eat a good breakfast.  Avoid too much sugar so you don’t crash later in the day.

  4. Practice positive thinking.  Tell yourself, “I’m ready. I’ve worked hard. I can do this.” Confidence helps your brain stay calm and focused.

  5. Manage your time.  Don’t rush. Read all the directions carefully.

  6. Use test taking strategies.  Eliminate wrong answers. Double check your answers if you have time.

  7. Stay calm.  If you feel nervous, take a deep breath. Do your best, that is what matter most!

Please read the SBAC Parent Information Letter for details regarding the state testing and ways you can help support your child. Thank you.

7th and 8th Grade Families

May is here and 8th Grade Promotion is right around the corner! Would you please consider helping us with some of the end of year fun?

Click on this Sign Up to help contribute:

  • Desserts for the 8th grade party

  • Candy for 8th grade party

  • Donations for decorations/activities at the 8th grade party and promotion

  • Your time at the 8th grade party

  • Your time at promotion (asking 7th grade families to help so that 8th grade families can enjoy the ceremony - offers great insight into planning for next year!)

We are so proud of our 8th graders and want to send them off to this next chapter of their lives with a fun celebration of their accomplishments these past 3 years. Any and all help is so very much appreciated!  💚💛💚 Your PTSA

Restrooms and Campus Supervision Boundaries

To help keep our restrooms safe and clean, Campus Supervisors will continue to allow only one student at a time to use the restroom during brunch and lunch. While this might mean a short wait now and then, the lines have not been long this week. Also, we’re making a small change to campus boundaries so supervisors can keep a better eye on things and help everyone get where they need to go more efficiently. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep our campus safe and respectful for all!

Coyote Parent Crew

We are looking for Parent Volunteers at lunchtime each day.  Our hope is to offer students a variety of activities to participate in each day during their lunchtime.  If you have some flexibility in your day and are interested in coming on campus to work with our students, please fill out this form.  If you are unavailable during the school day to come to campus, but still want to support students, we are also in need of donations/prizes for students.  Sign up Here
