Quote of the Week

“There will always be detours in the fascinating game called life.  Find your path to your heart's desires and stay on course.” —Elizabeth Parker

We should always remind our students that they will encounter obstacles in their lives, but they should embrace the challenges and learn from them.

CEF Summer Academy- Hybrid & Virtual Learning Models

Summer Academy offers middle and high school students a chance to earn credits over the summer to free up time in their school-year schedule! Academic courses follow a hybrid schedule of in- person instruction and independent learning.  Physical Education (PE) courses offered in either a hybrid or virtual learning model also.  See flyer for details.

Sixth Grade Camp Fundraiser

6th Grade camp at CHMS for our incoming 6th graders will be October 7th - October 11th. The cost for the trip per student is $450.00. To help with costs and possible reduction of the cost of camp we are having a fundraiser. A PADRES NIGHT fundraiser! Spread the word and go to a Padres Game! Let's start the summer off with a HOMERUN!!!!!

Please see the attached flyer to support the 24/25 6th grade class! You can choose to support a student you know or just support camp in general for CHMS.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Coyote Crew Parent Volunteers needed for the Spring

We are still looking for Parent Volunteers at lunchtime each day for the Spring.  Our hope is to offer students a variety of activities to participate in each day during their lunchtime.  If you have some flexibility in your day and are interested in coming on campus to work with our students, please complete the volunteer form

 Picking Up a Student Early?

As a reminder, if you need to pick up your student early, you must sign them out at the attendance desk and you are required to show a valid ID.  Only adults (18+) listed on the student’s emergency contact list may pick up a student.  To alleviate the wait times, we suggest calling the attendance hotline at 760-331-6470 or filling out the attendance form in the morning rather than calling right before arrival.  Also, if your student contacts you because they are not feeling well, they still need to go to the health office to check out.  They should not be using their cell phones to contact parents.  This could result in a cell phone violation.

Congratulations CHMS Choir!

Congratulations to our very own Sound Sensations for earning 2nd place at the Oceanside Sound-off Choir Festival. WOOHOO!

Donations Needed for CHM Library

CHM Library is in need of  new or gently used board games, puzzles, and card games for students to play in the library at lunch.  They are also looking for age-appropriate books to use as prizes for library lunchtime activities.  Students can bring donations directly to the library or you may drop items off in the front office.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Donate Shoes for San Diego 8th Grade Flood Victims by 4/30

If you were hoping to donate shoes for SD 8th graders affected by the January flooding - there is still time! We have collected over half the shoes needed, but we still are hoping to collect 30 more pairs by the end of the month. These students lost most of everything they owned in the recent flooding and are in need of basic necessities. We are partnering with the Southeast San Diego Kids for Peace chapter to get every 8th grader at KIPP Adelante Charter outfitted with a new (or VERY gently used) pair. If interested and able to participate, please see this Sign Up Genius to see what sizes are still needed.  Tennis shoes are best and can be found at Walmart/Marshalls for under $30. Simply bind the shoebox closed with a rubber band or tape and mark on it: SHOE SIZE, GENDER AND HOMEROOM (info found in Sign Up Genius) so that the shoes may be easily distributed to the students. The shoe donations do not need to come from CHMS - feel free to share this opportunity to donate with other local Carlsbad families or businesses. We are really hoping to cover the soles of every 8th grade soul. Thanks in advance for your compassion and generosity! The last day to donate is 4/30.
