Our Principal and Assistant Principal

Principal
Ms. Stapleton
I am privileged to serve as the Principal of Calavera Hills Middle School, bringing extensive experience and a passion for education to this role. Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at Carlsbad High School from 2019 to 2023. Before that, I spent five years as a Teacher on Special Assignment at Calavera Hills Middle School, where I also had the honor of teaching Drama and AVID from 2004 to 2019. My teaching experience extends across multiple campuses, including Carlsbad High School, Sage Creek High School, and Valley Middle School, where I taught Theatre and AVID.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, with a minor in English and American Literature, from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of San Diego.
As a proud graduate of Carlsbad High School and the parent of a Sage Creek High School graduate, I have a deep-rooted connection to this community. I am dedicated to building meaningful relationships with the students, families, and staff of Calavera Hills Middle School and fostering a collaborative environment focused on academic excellence and personal growth.
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Rall
I am honored to serve the Calavera Hills Middle School community as your assistant principal. For the past six years, I have had the privilege of serving as a middle school assistant principal, and I am passionate about creating a school environment where every student feels known, valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. I look forward to building strong, positive relationships with our students, staff, and families and working together to create a culture of belonging, collaboration, and high expectations.
I began my career in education as a 7th grade English/Language Arts teacher, where I discovered my passion for working with middle school students. I later served as a district Literacy Teacher on Special Assignment, supporting educators and strengthening literacy instruction across the district. Most recently, I have served as a middle school assistant principal, an experience that has deepened my commitment to supporting students, staff, and families.
I am a proud Oceanside resident and live just up the street from Calavera Hills. My two young children are also in school, so I understand firsthand the importance of a strong partnership between schools and families. I look forward to an incredible school year together!
