Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.” — Theodore Roosevelt
Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who served our nation and made extraordinary sacrifices so others could live in freedom and peace. Their willingness to put service above self created a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
This week, we encourage our students to reflect on the values of courage, gratitude, and service to others. Even small acts of kindness, leadership, and perseverance can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us.

CEF will be hosting our Summer Enrichment Camps at Kelly Elementary from June 15–August 14, and we’re excited to offer weekly volunteer opportunities for high school students (current and incoming). Most camps are designed for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, with a few options open to middle school students as well.
As a Summer Enrichment Camp volunteer, students will:
- Assist instructors with lesson materials and activities
- Support campers during projects, games, and transitions
- Help with classroom setup and cleanup
- Model positive behavior and actively engage with students
- Take attendance and help organize groups as needed
- Help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all participants
Volunteering for one half‑day, week‑long camp earns 18 volunteer hours, making this a great opportunity for students to nearly fulfill their graduation community service requirement.
