Quote of the week

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi
Every student has the power to make a positive impact. Through kindness, responsibility, and the choices they make each day each of us can make a difference at CHMS.

Staff Recognition

Congratulations to our amazing staff! Mrs. Lopez, our Library Tech was named CHMS Classified Employee of the Year. Last week our Drama and English teacher, Mrs. Renda, was selected as our CHMS Teacher of the Year. Our Music and ASB teacher, Mr. Bullock, was recognized as California League of Middle Schools' Teacher of the year for the whole state. In addition, our Science teacher, Mr. Sottile, was recently recognized as national PLTW teacher of the year and Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's Middle School Teacher of the Year. The Calavera Hills Middle School community is lucky to have so many amazing teachers and staff members!

Confetti Eggs and Other Distractions

Lately, some students have been bringing confetti eggs to school and cracking them on their friends' heads. While this might seem like harmless fun, it creates a big mess around campus and places extra work on our hardworking custodial staff.
We’ve asked students not to bring confetti eggs to school, but a few are still testing the rules. To help maintain a clean and respectful environment, students caught with confetti eggs may receive lunch detention or be asked to participate in campus beautification efforts.
We kindly ask for your help in checking your child’s backpack and reminding them to leave any confetti eggs or other distracting items at home. Thank you for helping us keep our school clean and respectful for everyone!
