Weekly Update

March 8, 2026

Block Week for Science Days 3/10, 3/11

We will be on a block schedule on 3/10 & 3/11 due to Science Days.( See schedule at the bottom of the newsletter.) Our students will have the exciting opportunity to participate in Science Days, a series of engaging, hands-on learning experiences led by experts from our community. These upcoming activities are designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and bring science to life beyond the classroom.
Students will learn important life-saving skills during CPR and First Aid training with the Carlsbad Fire Department, gaining valuable knowledge about how to respond in emergency situations. They will also explore the science of motion and energy during Forces in Action with the Fleet Science Center, where interactive demonstrations will help illustrate key physics concepts.
In addition, students will investigate marine biology through a fish dissection with the Living Coast Discovery Center, and experience the excitement of Raptors in Flight presented by the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, where they will learn about local birds of prey and their role in our ecosystem. Students will also explore Earth’s ancient history during a fossil investigation with San Diego Youth Science.
We look forward to an inspiring week of discovery and hands-on science learning for our students!

Quote of the week

“You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step” Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. King encourages us to move forward even when the path feels uncertain. Big goal, whether improving grades, building a kinder campus, trying out for a team, or standing up for what’s right, can feel overwhelming when we focus on how far we have to go. Instead of worrying about the entire journey, we can focus on the next right step: asking for help, studying a little longer, including someone at lunch, or speaking up with kindness. Progress happens one step at a time. This is a powerful reminder that growth doesn’t happen all at once. It begins with the courage to start.
