Quote of the week

"Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
— Maya Angelou
Learning is a journey. At school, we are constantly growing: academically, socially, and emotionally. Mistakes are not failures; they are opportunities to learn, improve, and become better versions of ourselves. Each day gives us a new chance to grow.

Message From Principal Stapleton About 2/17

Dear CHMS Families,
I would like to provide additional information regarding the protest that took place on February 17.
The majority of CHMS students who participated in the protest remained on campus and expressed themselves peacefully. However, some students acted inappropriately, used profanity, and violated school rules. In addition, a group of students chose to leave campus during the school day. Administration and staff actively encouraged students to remain on campus to support their safety and maintain the integrity of the school day. Students who did not return to campus and failed to adhere to school policies received appropriate consequences.
We respect our students’ right to express their viewpoints and believe their voices matter. At the same time, our primary responsibility is to ensure student safety and maintain an orderly environment that supports learning. When students leave campus without permission, it disrupts the school day, impacts the broader community, and, most importantly, may place students and others in potentially unsafe situations.
We appreciate your continued partnership in reinforcing the importance of remaining on campus during the school day. Working together, we can ensure that CHMS remains a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all students, staff, and families.

Learning Lab

  • The CHMS Learning Lab is voluntary and open to all students. Students may choose to take part in our Learning Lab on days that it is helpful and choose to not participate on days that it does not meet their learning needs.
  • While the CHMS Learning Lab is optional, we will take roll each day. This way, we will know who is taking advantage of this service and parents can require their own children to participate. Parents will receive daily emails of confirmation of their child’s attendance.
  • Students are expected to behave in such a way that does not make it difficult for other students to take advantage of this program.
