Quote of the week

“Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.”
—Maya Angelou
This week, as many families celebrate Hanukkah, we are reminded that light is powerful, even a small light can brighten the world. Let’s continue to spread kindness and shine positivity in our school community.

New Ebike Safety Measures

New e-bike safety measures are coming to Carlsbad soon, including a minimum age of 12 for riding e-bikes and rules to strengthen and clarify Carlsbad’s existing e-bike laws.

The city will launch a 30-day public information campaign in the new year to raise awareness of the laws before they go into effect in spring 2026. In the meantime, as we approach the holidays and parents may be considering new e-bikes for their children, we wanted to make sure you had the latest information.

Lost and Found Pick Up

There will be lost and found items outside the front gate every Thursday from 2:00-3:00pm. Parents please come look through the items to see if your student is missing anything.

High School Tour Dates

We are excited to share the dates for our upcoming high school campus visits. These tours give students an opportunity to explore different schools, learn about programs, and begin thinking about their future pathways.

Learning Lab-Now Include Monday Mornings!

  • The CHMS Learning Lab is voluntary and open to all students. Students may choose to take part in our Learning Lab on days that it is helpful and choose to not participate on days that it does not meet their learning needs.
  • While the CHMS Learning Lab is optional, we will take roll each day. This way, we will know who is taking advantage of this service and parents can require their own children to participate. Parents will receive daily emails of confirmation of their child’s attendance.
  • Students are expected to behave in such a way that does not make it difficult for other students to take advantage of this program.
