Quote of the week

“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.”
— William Arthur Ward
Kindness doesn’t always require big actions or grand gestures. Sometimes, something as simple as a warm smile can help someone feel seen, welcomed, and valued. As we move towards winter break, let’s remember that small acts of kindness, like a friendly smile, can brighten someone’s day in a big way.

Volunteer for CHE Winterfest

Calavera Hills Elementary is getting ready for their upcoming Winterfest on December 12th from 4:00PM-7:00PM and are looking for Calavera Hills Middle School students who’d like to volunteer while helping bring the magic to life! We need volunteers anytime between 3:00PM-8:00PM
Winterfest is one of our biggest family events of the year—packed with crafts, games, DJ, face painting, photo ops, and tons of holiday funChick-fil-A will be available for purchase. We’d love to have student volunteers help out at stations such as:
Craft tables, Games, DJ, Photo areas and mostly Set-up & Clean-up. It’s a great chance to support the community and be part of a cheerful, family-friendly event. Each volunteer will be welcome to snacks and pizza.
If your student might be interested, please contact Korie Younger via email at korie@blissevent.com or by phone at  858-775-5674

Learning Lab-Now Include Monday Mornings!

  • The CHMS Learning Lab is voluntary and open to all students. Students may choose to take part in our Learning Lab on days that it is helpful and choose to not participate on days that it does not meet their learning needs.
  • While the CHMS Learning Lab is optional, we will take roll each day. This way, we will know who is taking advantage of this service and parents can require their own children to participate. Parents will receive daily emails of confirmation of their child’s attendance.
  • Students are expected to behave in such a way that does not make it difficult for other students to take advantage of this program.

Brighter Bites, a company dedicated to supporting healthy families and communities, will provide 200 bags of fresh fruits and vegetables every two weeks — free to our Calavera Hills families who sign up to receive them.
This wonderful opportunity will help ease grocery costs and promote healthy eating habits for our students and their families.
To be a part of this program, all you have to do is scan the QR code attached or you can fill out the attached form and return it to our school office.
Pick up will be on Thursday afternoons outside the elementary school.
