Meet the school counselors

Hi there. I've been a teacher and school counselor in the Carlsbad Unified School District for 29 years, all of which have been in middle school and I am so happy to be part of the Calavera family! 

I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling, Counseling Credential, and Administrative Credential from National University. I earned a Single Subject Mathematics Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at UC San Diego. 

I am married, have two grown children, and several grandkids. My hobbies include beach volleyball, running, paddleboarding, pickleball and anything outdoors and most weekends, you'll find me at the beach. I look forward to working with you throughout your middle school experience!

I’m so excited to be a part of the Calavera family!  I’ve been a School Counselor for 16 years working in Elementary, Middle and High School.  Middle School is my favorite.  I received my Bachelors Degree  in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and my Masters Degree in School Counseling from Lewis University. 

My family moved to Carlsbad 8 years ago from Chicago, IL.  I am married and have 2 boys, a 6th grader at Valley Middle School and a 5th grader at Magnolia Elementary.  We are a big sports family- primarily baseball and football and I love spending time with family and friends on the weekends.  I look forward to working with you all this year!
